When it comes to design the possibilities for what you can create are endless. Our main obstacle in designing is understanding this principle in order to allow ourselves to give way to ideas in whichever way they choose to present themselves. Majoring in Interior Design I myself have experienced this revelation as I stumbled upon my passion for furniture design, textile design, and graphic design throughout the program. Presented with a vast medium of outlets to utilize my creativity I have found my greatest challenge has been mastering the programs in order to accurately depict my ideas. My main goal in design is to breathe beauty back into even the most utilitarian structures without compromising functionality. Like nature, I believe design should demonstrate unity, detail, and present harmony while balancing beauty and functionality cohesively. It’s consideration for the small details that make a design, and great design is its own piece of artwork.
